Hello. My name is Sue McLaughlin
.Sue
Mc for short (more about that later). This site is designed
for you to find out a little more about me. Its sole purpose
is for you to get to know who I am, where I came from, some
of my past personal and business experiences and how in
the world I came to be marketing on the Internet!
I am guessing you got to this page because you were
looking at one of my other Internet sites or you received
an email communication from me. With all of the scams
and unscrupulous people using the Internet to take advantge
of people, I know that you will feel much more comfortable
working with me if I have introduced myself first. So,
read on!
Internet
Marketing...
Currently I am a full time Independent Marketer and
I spend about 90% of my marketing time on the Internet.
I have been doing this for over 5 years now and I know
that I will continue forever! I am addicted to it... in
spite of the scams and irritations. The Internet is always
changing and moving and you have to do the same! Technology
is intriguing and exciting to me, but even more, the endless
possibilities are exhilirating!
For me, this online experience started by accident.
But once I began, I was hooked! In spite of that, the
first couple of years were a total failure! I floundered
around... trying to find a program or business that could
reliably produce additional income. I knew nothing about
marketing online and I didn't know what to do. Like millions
of others, I bought much of the hype, spend lots of money
and received nothing for it! Over time I met key individuals
who taught me essential skills in marketing and I learned
from experience what TO do and what NOT to believe!
I am a strong believer in Multiple Streams of Income....
it just makes sense! My personal focus is on building
a portfolio consisting of complimentary income streams
with a balance of active business and passive income.
If your goal is to eventually replace your JOB... mulitple
income streams are a MUST! There are peaks and valleys
in any business and the truth is that some businesses
and investment opportunities are vulnerable to failure
in the current marketplace. However, since the compensation
can be so much better than in traditional jobs, the reward
is definitely worth the risk! In fact, not even your JOB
is truly reliable in the present economy - it is important
to your family's future that we all create additional
income streams, even if we love our job or business. The
Internet can help to do that! And, the risks can be limited
by being selective.
Personally I look for automated tools in marketing. If
you are going to build multiple opportunities at the same
time or if you are going to build one while working another
job, automating the process as much as possible is a must.
Even if you love spending time on the phone cold calling
people, incorporating automation can increase your success
level exponentially! Not everyone you recruit does and
having a marketing scheme that is duplicatable is very
important to building and sustaining a business. In fact,
most people in the home business arena don't like prospecting
and closing at all. Finding opportunities that assist
in these areas can make a big difference in how fast your
business grows.
What I personally bring to the table is an ability to
assist people who want to get into Internet Marketing
but don't know what to do and/or are less comfortable
with the technical aspects. My past training, job experiences
and online experiences have given me the ability to help
in choosing a viable opportunity and simplify the startup
through training sites, examples, pre-written letters
and personal assistance. Of course, now I look for opportunities/programs
that provide this already!

My
Life... in a Nutshell...
You can see by my picture that I am a baby
boomer. I have been married for 28 years and
we have two beautiful grown up children. Our
daughter (26) is married & graduated from
Western Washington University in 2003 with
a teaching degree. She worked as a sixth grade
science teacher for two years before giving
birth to her first child (my grandson - Jackson)
in May 2005 and starting her new areer as
"Mom". My son (24) has chosen a
career in the restaurant industry. He has
a passion for his work and expects to own
his own restaurant in the future.
I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington
an only child. My mother was a housewife and
my father was involved in all aspects of Real
Estate sales for most of his work life. Both
are deceased now. Like my mother and her entire
family, I graduated from the University of
Washington with a major in Textile Design
and Art. I had always made my own clothes
and loved working with my hands so this was
a natural choice. While at the U, my parents
moved to California to find work, but I stayed
in Seattle by myself. My entire extended family
lives here so it wasn't as lonely as it might
have been.
There isn't a clear career path with my
major, so I continued waitressing after graduation
(the job that got me through college). After
a couple of years I decided I needed a career
and found through testing that I had a knack
for computers. So, I attended aTechnical College
and 6 months later I launched my IT career
as a computer programmer/operator at a steel
company - it was here that I met my husband,
Jack.

My
Corporate Career...
After a couple of years at the steel company it was
time for a change and new challenges ... I started my
career at Seafirst Bank in Seattle, which eventually merged
with Bank of America. My career at Seafirst took many
turns over the 15 years I worked there... starting as
a computer programmer and ending as a Department Manager
in IT. It was at Seafirst that I got the nickname "Sue
Mc", which I use to this day as a signature.
Many of those later years at Seafirst are a bit of a
blur. It was hectic, demanding, stressfull and required
long hours. For quite some time I loved the responsibility
and excitement of being on the leading edge of technical
product offerings and working with a very highly motivated
and skilled workforce. Eventually, the stress and hours
took their toll, I had done everything I wanted to do
and I was ready to make a major change... my daughter
was 12 and I no longer wanted to spend 60 hours a week
away from home. It was time to move on to a dream I had
always had
..owning my own business! Bank of America
was going through major change itself and, as a result,
I was able to get a layoff package. So, I took the plunge!

The
Entrpreneurial Phase Begins...
And, what a "plunge" it was! I isn't easy
making the transition from being a person with some stature
in a company to a "nobody" at home! First, I
needed to find a business venture that would work for
me. After some searching for a business to start, I decided
on a Computerized Embroidery Business. This seemed like
the perfect mix between my textile background and my computer
experience and I had a great time running and building
this business for the next ten years. Since it was in
an office in the basement of our home, I was able to be
available for my kids as they were maturing and encountering
the issues of their adolescent and teenage years.
After 10 years, there was a decision point. To grow
my business I would have to move out of my house, increase
my staff and become a larger manufacturing company. In
my gut I knew this wasn't for me. A few years before I
got the MLM bug, hoping to add an extra income. This was
my first unsuccessful attempt at network marketing. Like
most who are recruited into an MLM opportunity, I was
instructed to create a list of my friends and family -
it didn't work for me. My traditional MLM career came
to a screeching halt! I swore I would never do that again!
However, I changed my mind in later years and even this
negative experience moved me forward....
It was through this MLM company that I was reconnected
with The Pacific Institute. As a result of this reconnection,
an opportunity to join The Pacific Institute came along
and I jumped at that. I was still independent and flexible
- a feature I was not willing to give up. I had participated
in The Pacific Institute education in 1976 and that experience
has had a profound impact on how I have lived my life,
the risks I have been willing to take, how I managed my
employees, my relationship with my family and friends,
how I raised my kids
in fact, every aspect of my
life. It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up... so I
closed my Embroidery business and moved on.
The Pacific Institute is an International Educational
Company specializing in training people how to adjust
to change... to alter their mindset so they can be successful
in any new situation or endeavor. The principles work
for people from toddler to senior citizen and in every
country in the world. We are constantly facing change
in our lives and we humans have a universal natural resistence
to any change. All of the training is based on the scientific
principles of cognitive psychology. It was founded by
Lou Tice in Seattle, Washington over 30 years ago and
has been heavily involved in cultural transformations
worldwide in cities (currently working in LA with gangs),
countries (South Africa and Northern Ireland), corporations
(AT&T, Toyota, etc.), military (Homeland Security),
special needs populations and with ordinary individuals
and their families.
I continue to work with the Institute in bringing the
education into local cities and organizations in the Pacific
Northwest
. When I am not online! With the creation
of their online program mid-2005, a whole new opportunity
to share this cutting edge training has arisen. Training
that was previously only available to organizations, governments,
etc. is now also available to individuals in their own
homes. Entreprenuers, stay-at-home Moms, etc. have the
ability to learn how to create success for themselves
and those around them... to transform their lives into
whatever avenue they desire. I am currently working on
the logistics of making this available to everyone via
the Internet.

I've come full circle...
As you can see I have a very broad set of experiences. In fact, when telling
people about my past it is almost like I have lived totally separate lives
that are loosely connected - the experiences gained from each "life" contributes
in some way to each new venture. That is also true for my "Internet career".
What I love about the Internet is that I feel like I
have come home! This is the perfect environment for me.
It allows me to be flexible and productive. It provides
me with an avenue to "play" with computers,
which I still love. It gives me the opportunity to meet
many people from all areas of the world. Most importantly,
it gives me the platform to build a significant income
that will more than provide for my family for the rest
of our lives. It is exciting (and aggravating) and constantly
changing. This is exactly the environment and the "job"
that will serve me for the rest of my life. I hope that
you are as excited as I am about the possibilities of
the Internet.
That said, there are also many pitfalls for the new,
unknowledgeable person wanting to create extra income
or starting a new business on the Internet. As I said
in the beginning, finding a group of people you trust
and who will support you is critical to success on the
Internet. I am tired of being lured into an opportunity
with the promise of big reward, only to have it fold and/or
to be left to my own devices to figure out how to make
it work - I am sure you are too. I am much more selective
in making choices now. My commitment is to share information
and provide access to coaching so that every person who
wants to be successful can be.
Another critical factor is training. Without good training
on marketing on the Internet, it is highly unlikely that
a person will be wildly successful. Unless, you plan to
market the old fashioned way
by telephone alone,
you are going to need to have some training! Every serious
marketer should invest in comprehensive, state of the
art training. I am only working with opportunities that
provide training. In addition, I have put together a resource
of marketing and web building tools at SuccessMktg.com.
Of course, it is very important that you pick a company/opportunity
with good growth possibiities, excellent compensation
for your efforts, reputable people at the top and the
support necessary to get started and continue to build.
In the case of a business, the product is just as important...
it must be unique, quality, priced appropriately and have
great customer appeal. In my opinion (and from my own
experience), the time for ordinary people to create success
with nutritional products or in telecommunications has
passed. These industries are too competitive and every
new product will be surpassed by the next miracle within
6 months or a year. It is easy to be "old news"
before you hardly get going!
Of equal importance are your interests and passions.
Without passion for a product/service/business it is unlikely
that a person will experience tremendous success. I have
found my own passion in investments and in helping people
to succeed.
Finally, being connected to a group of people who have
the same goals and who respond to you is very important
to success. I tried for several years to go it on my own.
However, it wasn't until I connected with others and learned
from their experiences as well as my own that I started
to see success. I have recently joined a group called
Lifestyles Marketing Group which was started by a couple
of women with whom I have done business online for several
years. They are both trustworthy and successful! The great
thing about these two women is that they are willing to
share with others. I like and admire this.
In conclusion, let me leave you with this thought:
"Life is a journey" and my journey has certainly
been interesting so far. From exhiliration to total defeat
and back... more than once. From these experiences I have
learned resiliency, the strength of my own beliefs and
the importance of support. Mostly, I have found my niche
- at least one of them!
If I could offer a one suggestion, it would be to "keep
your eye on the ball" - if you've played sports,
you've heard this before. It's true in life and in business
as well. Know the results you are trying to achieve, focus
on them and leave the day to day distractions behind as
you move ahead!
